Your ship out at sea breaking waves
Navigating death
As my heart beats at home and breaks

Recollecting The Night
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Slow and steady evening
Timing had its way
Locks were changed and rearranged
To greet a brand new day
You were at the stove
Cooking like you do
I was in the walkway visiting with you
We were moving naturally
Everything understood
Silence after too much talking
And the hours spent were good
But you were very tired
Sorely needing rest
You put on something silky
To be comfortably dressed
I was doing dishes
The water felt so good
We were moving naturally
Everything understood
But then so unexpectedly
Spinning into an emergency
I became a whirling dervish
Praying for the best
And I am still praying
Even though you left
Be at peace my brother
I will see you again
♥ Box Of Rain ♥
۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞~۞
۝ Box Of Rain ۝
♥ For My Brother ♥
Look out of any window
Any morning, any evening, any day
Maybe the sun is shining
Birds are winging, no rain is falling from a heavy sky
What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through?
For this is all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago
Walk out of any doorway
Feel your way like the day before
Maybe you'll find direction
Around some corner where it's been waiting to meet you
What do you want me to do
To watch for you while you're sleeping?
Then please don't be surprised when you find me dreaming too
Look into any eyes
You find by you; you can see clear to another day
Maybe been seen before
Through other eyes on other days while going home
What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through?
It's all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago
Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted with words half spoken and thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
To do for you, to see you through?
A box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through
Just a box of rain, wind and water
Believe it if you need it, if you don't just pass it on
Sun and shower, wind and rain
In and out the window like a moth before a flame
And it's just a box of rain,
I don't know who put it there
Believe it if you need it or leave it if you dare
And it's just a box of rain, or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long, long time to be gone and a short time to be there
Poem for Joe Heller by Kurt Vonnegut
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut ~November 11, 1922 ~ April 11, 2007

Joe Heller

True story, Word of Honor:
Joseph Heller, an important and funny writer
now dead,
and I were at a party given by a billionaire
on Shelter island.
I said, "Joe, how does it make you feel
to know that our host only yesterday
may have made more money
than your novel 'Catch-22'
has earned in its entire history?"
And Joe said, "I've got something he can never have."
And I said, "What on earth could that be, Joe?"
And Joe said, "The knowledge that I've got enough."
Not bad! Rest in peace!

Worship

I don't know about you,
but I practice a disorganized religion.
I belong to an unholy disorder.
We call ourselves,
"Our Lady of Perpetual Astonishment."
You may have seen us praying
for love
on sidewalks outside the better
eating establishments
in all kinds of weather.
Blow us a kiss
upon arriving or departing,
and we will climax
simultaneously.
It can be quite a scene,
especially if it is raining
cats and dogs
